Practicing on Mother’s and Father’s Day

I have a regularly scheduled class on Sundays with the exception of bank holidays. However, when I make the commitment to run a class on Mother’s Day, some people are surprised.

People ask me, “Aren’t you a mom? Surely you want to spend time with your family.” The answer is that I can confirm that I am a proud mama, of course I do. But, I have realized that the day is long and I can do both! I have a lot of love in my family for which I am grateful. I have a supportive spouse whom I can trust to make a little bit of magic happen every Sunday morning while I teach, and Mother’s Day is no exception.

Here’s the thing about our mock-holidays: they can be loaded with uninvited expectations and big feelings. Not everyone is happy to celebrate the day of mothers for various reasons. Mother’s Day can be sad and stressful. Also, throughout the different stages of my children’s development and my postpartum journey, there were a few years where the greatest Mother’s Day gift I could receive was to be left alone and blissfully not surrounded by family that, even on Mother’s Day, required my loving care and attention. Sometimes, mamas need a break.

So, not only am I teaching this Sunday, but I am inviting anyone who comes to invite a loved one (if they choose to) for free. That’s right, my first ever two for the price of one class just for the mamas, or anyone who has a mama they may or may not want to celebrate. You can bring a relative or loved one - whomever you feel would appreciate a great hatha yoga class appropriate for any skill level.

If you play your cards right, maybe you can arrange for that brunch to be ready to enjoy after a blissful and rejuvenating morning yoga class.

If this sounds like a wonderful way to spend next Sunday morning then please contact me to regsiter you and your loved one.
